Foster Designs New London Building

In massing terms this resembles a box on a box in a similar manner to Plantation Place and helps reduce the bulk of the building when seen from street level. There are likely though to be concerns from some that dark granite will have too oppressive an effect on the street.

Originally plans were floated for a building as tall as 26 storeys when initial feasibility studies were carried out but this has since been designed down to 77.3 metres, in part thanks to the modest height of the existing modern office buildings on Fenchurch Street.
